Just because a business or individual tells you that they know how to properly install or repair your vehicle’s auto glass, doesn’t mean that they are certified to do so. When it comes to Insurance companies, replacing or repairing your auto glass with anyone other than a completely certified company, is a surefire way to loose out on your claim.

1) AGRSS
This stands for “The Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standards Council”. This council offers an accreditation program for auto glass shops. Registered shops guarantee that they are compliant with the ANSI/AGRSS Standards.
2) ASE
“The National Institute For Automotive Service Excellence” offers an incredibly well-known certification for individual automotive repair technicians. Although it is not suggested that you enlist the services of an individual over a certified auto glass instillation and repair company, it is important that, if deciding upon an individual auto glass technition, they have this certification. To achieve ASE certification, a technician must pass a test and have a minimum of 2 years experience in the specific automotive trade for which they are certified. 3) IGA
The Independent Glass Association offers membership to auto glass companies with less than 100 locations. It also offers a certification program for individual technicians. One must pass a training course and demonstrate basic math skills. Technicians are required to have a minimum of six months’ auto glass installation experience and make at least 50% of their yearly income from auto glass replacement.
4) NGA
The National Glass Association certified individual auto glass installers. This program has two levels: Certified Auto Glass Technician (CAGT) which requires testing plus at least 6 months experience in auto glass installation. The other one is Certified Master Auto Glass Technician (CMAGT) which requires testing in addition to CAGT certification as well as three years of experience as an auto glass technician.
